Inka, Amigurumi Bendy Doll (PDF Pattern)

INKA AMIGURUMI BENDY DOLL (Toma Creations) 14

Eversince I began making my own patterns, my dream has been to create a doll with bendable parts i.e. arms & legs, it took only 7 years ;P . Making so many ethnic dolls lately I finally was inspired to attempt the dream; it came quite naturally and easily, and as a result I’ve put more time and effort into her hair styles and dressing.

Inka is quite bendy, you can even tie knots with her arms and legs and in addition she can easily sit without any back support.

With this pattern you will get:

  • Main Body with or without panties/bikini bottom
  • 4 Hair styles (Long and Straight, Straight with bangs, Curly and Afro) and suggestions for variations
  • 2 Dresses made using the same yarn weight & hook as the main body
  • 1 Dress made with cotton thread and smaller size hook than the one used for the body
  • Bikini top
  • Shoes

Although I’ve made several additional hair and dressing styles e.g. rasta, spikes, braids, bun(s), sporty, kimono I could not put them into this pattern as it would become to long and most probably would not get published as the ideas just never end, one creates another three and this goes on. I might publish an extension with the mentioned styles or an ebook or even a family with a husband, babies and kids. For now those who will buy this pattern can create several styles, mix and mach and in addition I’m sure you might figure out how to make your own style.

Amigurumi Angel Doll (PDF Pattern)

Amigurumi Angel Doll - Toma Creations 1

Although I’m not a religious person I do like to believe that there is something greater than us, most probably it is human nature to believe. After reading Les Thanatonautes (The Thanatonauts, death-nauts/sailors if translated from Greekand L’Empire des Anges (The Empire of the Angels) by Bernard Werber I really want to believe in the existence of angels. I’m not sure why these books are not translated yet in English maybe because they touch a subject we so much avoid talking, facing and even accepting, the death; I consider them masterpieces and that they will become classical in the future, at least in countries that they will get translated.

Anyway this pattern was inspired from The Empire of the Angels.

Amigurumi Gypsy Doll (PDF Pattern)

AMIGURUMI GYPSY DOLL 2016 Toma Creations 1

‘Dolls from around the world’ have a new member, a Gypsy Doll 🙂 . I love gypsy ladies dressing up, they are so colourful and eye catching. Whenever we visit Plovdiv, my husband’s birthtown, we always take a round trip with a bus into the gypsy neighborhood, it looks so different, ‘culturally’, like it is out of place and time.

Amigirumi Matryoshka – Russian Nesting Doll (PDF pattern)

AMIGURUMI MATRYOSHKA 2015 Toma Creations

This is my third version of Matryoshka, and it is obvious that i’m addicted to these dolls. I love them so much because they are a reminder of my motherland, Russia.  It is funny, i was mentioning to my husband how much i love Cyprus which felt like i was kind of betraying where I come from and he told me, with his calm and reasonable voice: ‘But this is normal, Russia is your motherland and Cyprus is your homeland’ which is sooo true. I’m proud of my motherland and my past and I love its beautiful green plains, forests, lakes and rivers, culture and traditions but i also love my new home; summer, sun, watermelons, beach, my husband and our cats…

Anyway, let’s get back to the pattern. With this pattern you will be able to make three variations; plain body with embroidery, body with stripes and body with apron. By using different colours and embroidery styles (all provided in the pattern) the sky is your limit. It is an easy pattern with a few tricks for which detailed written instructions, photos and graphs are all provided.

Amigurumi Balinese Doll (PDF Pattern)

BALINESE DOLL Toma Creations - 2015 3

Say hello to Ni Ketut Lintang, an amigrumi Balinese doll.

This doll is made in memory of my trip to Bali for yoga teacher training, a dedication to Alicia, an amazing yoga teacher, to all my fellow sweet yogis and a reminder of celebrating my 27th birthday on this amazing island while going through an experience that would shift and shape my life after this trip.

I cannot express in words the changes this amazing experience has had on my life, on all levels. I could talk for ages about philosophy, concept, lifestyle, perception etc etc but the one and most important thing that I’ve learned is that wisdom can only be gained by experience, no matter how much i might learn or know the best things in my life are the joys and the lessons. Both can be gained only with actions, experimentation and an open mind.
