After lots of trials with different yarns and stitches I finally came up with the below designs. Enjoy and happy crocheting 🙂
Materials and Tools needed:
- Cotton yarn (King Cole DK Bamboo Cotton Yarn) in any desired colour
- Steel hook USA 2 (2.00mm)
- Embroidery needle
- Scissors
Notes:
- Row 5 is optional, it helps in flatening the edges
- 3dc-cluster can be substitued with 4dc-cluster or even popcorn stitch

Crocheted Coaster – Flower Power
Row 1: in an adjustable ring* stich 6 sc do not turn. Total 6 sts
Row 2: Ch 3, stitch 2 unfinished double crochet, yarn over and pass the yarn through all three loops on the hook, ch 3 (count as first cluster of the row), [ch 3, 3dc-cluster in the next st] 5 times, ch 3, sl st to first cluster of the row, do not turn. Total 6 clusters
Row 3: slst in the first 3ch-space of the previous row, ch 3, stitch 2 unfinished double crochet, yarn over and pass the yarn through all three loops on the hook, ch 3, 3dc-cluster into the same space (count as first cluster of the row), [ch 3, 3dc-cluster, ch 3, 3dc-cluster in the next 3ch-space] 5 times, ch 3, sl st to first cluster of the row, do not turn. Total 12 clusters
Row 4: same as 3rd row, repeat […] 11 times, do not turn. Total 24 clusters
Row 5: slst into the first 3ch-space of the previous row, ch 1, 2 sc in the same space, [3 sc in next space] 23 times, slst into the first sc of the row, TURN. Total 36sts
Row 5: ch 1, slst into each st around. Fasten off*

Crocheted Coaster – Flower Wheel
Row 1: in an adjustable ring* stich 12 sc do not turn. Total 12 sts
Row 2: Ch 5, [1dc in the next st, ch 2] 11 times, sl st to the 3rd ch at the begining of the row, do not turn. Total 12 sts
Row 3: slst in the first 2ch-space of previous row, ch 3, stitch 2 unfinished double crochet, yarn over and pass the yarn through all three loops on the hook(count as first cluster of the row), [ch 3, 3dc-cluster in the next 2ch-space] 5 times, ch 3, sl st to first cluster of the row, do not turn. Total 12 clusters
Row 4: slst in the first 3ch-space of the previous row, ch 3, stitch 2 unfinished double crochet, yarn over and pass the yarn through all three loops on the hook (count as first cluster of the row), ch 3, 3dc-cluster into the same space, [ch 3, 3dc-cluster, ch 3, 3dc-cluster in the next space] 11 times, ch 3, sl st into first cluster of the row, do not turn. Total 24 clusters
